Treasures from Yukon's Photographic Archives
The Tr'ondëk Hwëch'in, or "people of the river", and their ancestors have inhabited the Dawson City area
for thousands of years. Their traditional territory spans the Klondike region and north into the Tombstone area and Blackstone Uplands. Every effort is made by the Tr'ondëk Hwëch'in to protect their cultural values, heritage, and history, and to promote public
education about the First Nation. The Tr'ondëk Hwëch'in Archives exist to protect the legal, fiscal, and cultural records of the First Nation and its citizens. The Archives will ensure the availability, integrity, preservation, and security of Tr'ondëk Hwëch'in's archival materials,
including documents, photographs, oral histories, maps and cartographic products, and videos.
