Wood and metal plough

The plough beam is made of wood reinforced with metal from the back to the beam hitch. The mouldboard is made of metal and it rests at the end. The handles are missing. The metal is badly rusted.

The plough is a farming implement used to till the ground. The plough would be harnessed to a farm animal like a horse or ox, while a farmer would direct the plough with the handles. The blade, known as the coulter, cut into the earth while the wedge shape of the mouldboard moved the soil to the sides to aerate and bring nutrients to the surface of the field.
